School Professionals + MT-BCs
Collaborative Tips & Tricks

We value the extensive knowledge that teachers, paraprofessionals, OTs, SLPs, and other educational staff bring regarding students' learning styles, communication systems, sensory needs, classroom routines, and support strategies.
Our board-certified music therapists (MT-BCs) bring clinical expertise in music selection, implementation, and adaptation to complement and enhance individual and classroom goals.

Before Session
Reflect & Share
Share your expertise through the intake form and during initial observation. The therapist will incorporate your insights into assessment and intervention planning.
Review Classroom Resources
Discuss available technology or visual supports with the therapist. Staff may be asked to help implement recommended supports.
During Session
Environmental Setup
Arrange seating in a semicircle and/or facing the therapist. Service delivery may be adapted as needed for high-movement groups.
Model & Co-regulate
Join the fun. Sing, move, be a little silly. Your presence matters more than your musical ability.
Embrace Stillness
Processing time, waiting, silence, and listening are all part of the therapeutic process. Please limit ambient noise and side conversations whenever possible.
Center the Group
Support individual needs by providing breaks, sensory supports, or alternative activities. Allow the therapist to guide song selection and session flow to keep interventions accessible to the group.
After Session
Discuss & Collaborate
Send an email or schedule a meeting to share observations, questions, or ideas with the therapist.
